Akaoma Onyemelukwe

Principal Consultant

Akaoma Onyemelukwe is the Principal Consultant of Affinity Consulting Nigeria with nearly 20 years development and management experience. She is an international expert in social, public health, community development, policy development and advocacy, organizational capacity development, curriculum development, gender, programme management and research.

She has led a range of impact, change and complex programmes on Health (WASH, immunization, HIV&AIDS, OVC, PMTCT, SRHR, TB, FP, Malaria, RMNCH, Adolescence health, health systems strengthening, gender, Health care financing /budget and planning, human resource for health, public private partnership, donor coordination, service charters, quality improvement, regulatory capacity), Governance (public sector management), Humanitarian Emergencies (disaster response, vulnerability analysis, implementing programmes for IDPs in health livelihood and protection), Media and Early Childhood Education intervention focusing on the girls’ child education in Northern Nigeria.

Akaoma has provided technical support across series of impactful areas for various international development organizations including Abt Associate, FHI360, ActionAid International Nigeria, World Health Organization, Oxford Policy Management-FOSTER programme, UNICEF, Save the Children International, International Rescue Committee, Rotary International District 9110, Plan International, Mercy Corp, DAI PERL programme, UNECA and Catholic Relief Services and range of private sector organizations, governments. She have managed technical and program management relations and international programming across Africa working within teams (UN system, USAID, DFID, EU, GAC, ECHO)

She holds a bachelor in English Language; Masters’ degree in Industrial and Labour Relations (MIRL) from University of Lagos and Masters in Public health from University of Liverpool (Dissertation). She is an alumnus of the Harvard University School of Public Health Boston USA. A member of Nigeria Association of Evaluators; Society for health care quality in Nigeria; and a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants. She has participated in series of competency-based courses in relevant areas. Her papers and abstracts have been presented at international conferences in Ethiopia, Uganda, Canada, Sweden, Mexico, Abuja, Tanzania, and Morocco.

Hadiza Hassan

Hadiza Kubra Hassan is a sociologist, development specialist, researcher trainer and facilitator with focus on gender related issues including gender-based violence, child protection, and girls’ education in Northern Nigeria and adolescence reproductive health.

She has provided technical support for the evaluation of DFID funded programs such as PropCom Makarfi; Nigeria Stability and Reconciliation Programme (NSRP) in northern states in Nigeria and some other states; Gender issues and Gender- Based Violence among adolescents both in Kano and Lagos States and UNICEF internal Review of the Girl for Girl Programme. She is also a facilitator for British Council Active Citizen involved in various social actions. She is an associate of the Center for Gender Studies of Bayero University, Kano; Hadiza is as an academic staff at the Department of Sociology, Bayero University, Kano. She is a member of Affinity Consulting team.
